Welcome to the 50th Company “Life after OCS Stories” Page
As we have announced in various emails, each month we hold two 50th Company "zoom" meetings. We encourage all of you to join either, or both, of these meetings. The Company email is: firstname.lastname@example.org
On the first Monday of the month, the 50thCompany Planning Group holds its “business” meeting. This has an agenda (company website status, reunion planning, classmates’ welfare, etc.). A summary of the discussion is posted on our “Current Events” website page and on our Facebook site. Our goal is to keep everyone informed about 50th Company activities.
The second monthly "zoom" get together is what we call our Shoot the Breeze (S.T.B.) meeting. This one is just a group of old friends getting remotely together to reconnect, chat, and tell stories. There is no agenda, and no minutes are kept. However, we encourage classmates to tell post-OCS stories, which we now record for posting on the website. These are now being shown as videos on this “Life after OCS” stories page. There are no restrictions on what the stories cover. Some classmates recount post-OCS military experiences from Vietnam, Korea, Germany, or elsewhere. Others tell about post-military careers; others do both. So far, the stories have all been well received. Some sad, some frightening, some funny but all interesting. Please give them a viewing.
Over the longer run, these stories will serve as part of the 50th Company’s archival memories, available for children, grandchildren, and other interested persons looking for information about their forbearers.
